In this intro to machine quilting class, you'll create a pie/casserole carrier - perfect for picnics and summer parties! This is a great project for anyone who has some beginner machine sewing skills who wants to learn to quilt! You'll learn to cut fabrics, learn to back the piece, machine quilt it, and construct the carrier.

Class Breakdown

(3 hours):

-Cut fabric out

-Pin baste with batting and backing together

-Machine quilt the piece

-Finish carrier construction with straps

You’ll take home a finished pie carrier!

Skills expected: Beginner sewing skills (we don't go over how to sew start to finish in this class. If you've made a few simple projects on a sewing machine, you're good to go.)

Materials: We make it easy on you! You can purchase a materials kit for this class. You'll have a choice of fabrics in various colors when you come to the first class. Just choose in-store pickup at checkout, but you'll actually pick out and receive the materials at class. 

If you want to supply your own fabric: You'll need 2 fat quarters (18 x22" fabric) for the body and straps

Materials provided: A sewing machine, choice of threads, needles, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, rotary cutter, rulers.
