We're located at 2969 E Ponce de Leon, Suite 310, Decatur, GA 30030.
We're open during scheduled class times only. To check when Second Stitch is open, the fabric shop in the back of our studio, refer to their Instagram where they post their hours each week.
We don't have a phone number, so email us if you have a question!
Please be sure to explain your question clearly so we know how to help you. :)
Policies
Class Policies at Topstitch
At Topstitch, we keep our classes small—usually 6 people maximum per class, and often with 2 instructors in classes—so everyone gets plenty of attention. Because of this, we have a few important policies:
Refunds & Store Credit
We don’t offer refunds on classes unless we at Topstitch need to cancel for an unexpected reason.
If you give at least 72 hours’ notice, we’ll happily issue you store credit to use toward a future class. You can email classes@topstitchatl.com if needed. (Details below on how store credit is issued and used.)
If you miss class due to forgetting, a last-minute schedule change or work running over, we do not issue credit—but you’re always welcome to register for another class.
Why We Have This Policy
As a small business with limited spaces, cancellations really impact us. Imagine if even 2–3 people canceled last minute for every class with the expectation of a refund or transfer to a new class—we would not be able to operate properly or manage that volume of additional admin. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep Topstitch thriving!
Transfers
If you can't make it to your class, you’re welcome to transfer your spot to a friend, co-worker or family member. Think of it like a concert ticket--ask a friend or co-worker if they want to go instead and give them the details. Just let us know their name or have them reach out so we can greet them properly.
Store Credit
If you give us 72 hours notice that you won't be able to attend your class, we'll issue you store credit to choose a class in the future. Once we issue store credit, you'll be able to view it in your account here.
Store credit balance will display at checkout when you are logged into your account. You'll be able to click "apply store credit" at checkout as a payment option.
Mark Your Calendar
We don’t send out reminders to attend class, so please make sure to mark your calendar when you register. You can sync your class straight from our online calendar to yours with just a click.
Missing class within a series:
If you're in a multi-week series and need to miss a class in the series you can schedule a 2 hour private lesson for $125 to make it up. We run many multi-week series and therefore have many students and are simply unable to accommodate make up sessions for free.
Safety & Liability
We take every measure to keep our studio safe. That said, sewing and crafting do involve tools like scissors, needles, irons, rotary cutters, and glue guns. By registering for a class or attending an event in our studio, you acknowledge these risks and agree to release Topstitch Studio, LLC, its owner, instructors, and staff from any liability related to injury. If needed, medical treatment will be your responsibility.
Sewing machines:
We have sewing machines for everyone to use in class. We use Janome Mod-30s. If you would like to learn on your own machine, it's best if you schedule a private lesson to do so. If you already know how to use your own machine, you can bring it to any class but to learn on your own machine, please schedule a private lesson.
Covid Guidelines:
Our instructors are vaxed and boosted. Currently masks are optional.
Class Time:
Please try to arrive 5 minutes before class.
Kids Classes:
If a class title says KIDS that means it's a kids class, otherwise it's a class for adults.
Sewcial nights:
These are self-guided sessions, intended for you to bring your own sewing project and work on it independently. Open sewing isn't the same as getting a private lesson. If you'd like instruction, you can book a private lesson.
Class Level Policy:
Please choose a class appropriate for your level. If you don't know how to use a sewing machine yet, you should choose a beginner sewing class where you learn how to sew in the class.
Class Levels:
Our classes are one of 4 levels:

-no sewing experience expected or required at all
