Autumn is coming, which means we’re getting ready to start sewing for cooler temps! We’ll be using the adaptable The Ilford Jacket to make a quilted creation. It's a great skill building pattern that allows you to level up your skills as you sew a collar, placket, patch pockets, buttonholes and buttons. And it's a unisex pattern, perfect for everyone.

You’ll learn how to create a compelling design, make pieced and machine quilted panels (option to hand quilt), and construct your jacket with bias binding. This class will be co-taught by Lisa and Aaronica.

1st class - Lisa will lead a discussion on design. You’ll receive the pattern and start cutting out blocks

2nd class - Start sewing panels together. Homework: finish sewing panels

3rd class (2 weeks later) - Learn how to machine quilt or hand quilt your panels. Homework: finish quilting your panels

4th class (2 weeks later) - Aaronica will guide how to start jacket construction

5th class - Finish jacket

There will be an optional 2 hr class in between the 3rd and 4th classes to cut out your pieces before we start constructing.

  • How to quilt, machine or by hand
  • How to sew a collar
