An apron is a great beginner project for anyone ready who would love to learn to sew and make something useful that you can use every day in the kitchen! In this class we'll use the Purl Soho Simple Adjustable Apron.

This introductory class will break down the basics how to use a sewing machine and make an excellent apron that you can use everyday. 

Skills you will learn: 

  • The parts of a sewing machine and how to use it
  • How to sew corners
  • How to sew patch pockets
  • How to insert webbing into a channel
  • How to hem

Skills expected:

None! 

Materials: We make it easy on you! You can purchase a materials kit for this class. You'll have a choice of fabrics for each class. Just choose in-store pickup at checkout, but you'll actually pick out and receive the materials at class. You will have a variety of linen fabrics to choose from. 

If you don't get a supply kit, you will need:

  • 1.5 yards of medium weight woven fabric like medium weight linen, denim or canvas
  • 3 yards of 1in Cotton Webbing in Natural

Materials provided: A sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape, an iron and ironing board.
